Whether you are you looking to get off to a good start with your dog or you’re at the end of your leash, Take The Lead’s Board and Train programs accelerate your dog’s learning, helping unleash their potential and develop a new way of interacting with your dog.

Take The Lead Dog Training understands that every dog is different and requires an individualized approach to training and behavior. We work with each dog in the way that they learn best, which may require different tools and techniques as well as different amounts of time. Your dog will stay in our home and become a member of our pack, joining us during family time, outings, and pack walks.

Our Board and Trains provide all the foundational training your dog needs to become a well- balanced dog. Your dog will learn how to take direction from their owner and learn to be calm on command. Through consistent training and positive interactions with humans, dogs and the environment, your dog will develop confidence and skills that will set them up for lifelong success with their family.

Basic Board and Train:

• Two Week On Leash Program (For Dogs 6 months and older).

This is our most popular program for the everyday family dog without any major behavioral issues. Our two week program focuses on the foundation of basic obedience and good manners. During this program your dog will learn manners when greeting people and out in public. We use their obedience and behavioral techniques to show them how to interact at home and in the community, and when unsure, to look to us for direction.

Advanced Board and Train:

• 3 to 4 Week On/Off Leash Program (For Dogs 6 months and older).

This Three to Four week program focuses on both on and off-leash obedience and behavioral problems with the same principles as above. Your dog will learn off leash obedience, healthy behaviors, and good manners. We spend the third and fourth week visiting busy streets, beaches, parks, outdoor cafés, stores and wherever dogs are allowed.

Your Dog Will Learn The Following

On Leash (2 week board and train) and Off Leash (three or four weeks) Obedience and Behavior Training. They will learn the following commands:

• Sit/Stay, Down/Stay, place/stay, heel, come
• “No” Command to stop unwanted behaviors
• Socialization
• Calm on Command
• Manners when greeting people
• Waiting at Thresholds (Doors, Car, Crate, etc.)
• Impulse Control
• “Off” switch

• Ignoring Commands
• Minor Fears and Anxiety
• Over excitement
• Excessive Barking and Whining
• Jumping
• Mouthing / Nipping

Programs Include:

• Video & Photo Updates
• Private lessons to transfer the training- 3 lessons per week of training
• Remote Collar: *Advanced Board and Train
• Slip Lead or Herm Sprenger prong collar
• Dog Cot

*Take The Lead Programs are not for dogs that have severe human and dog aggression.
