Puppy Board and Train
10 weeks to 6 months: Your puppy will get a “Head Start”, helping them succeed in becoming an upstanding canine companion.
Our Puppy Pre School is a structured board and train program designed for puppies between ten weeks and six months old.
Your puppy will get a “Head Start”, helping them succeed in becoming an upstanding canine companion. Puppy Training provides physical, mental, and emotional stimulation as well as a foundation of structure, behavior, and basic commands. We work on safe exposure to new people, places, and the environment to build confidence and positive associations.
After completing the Board and Train, your pup will have a foundation to build on for the rest of his life!
Your puppy will learn the following:
- Walk politely on-Leash
- On leash obedience: sit/stay, down/stay, place/stay, come
- Loose Leash Walking
- Crate and Potty Training
- “No” command to stop unwanted behavior
- Manners and Impulse Control
- Calm on Command
- Socialization
- Safe exposure to the environment
- Confidence building exercises
- Waiting for Food
- Waiting at Thresholds (Doors, Car, Crate, etc.)
We will also focus on minor behavior issues, such as:
- Jumping, Nipping, Mouthing
- Excessive Barking/ Whining
- Selective Listening
- Counter-Surfing
- Leash Biting/Chewing

Boarding:
If your dog trained with Take The Lead, we offer Boarding while you are away. Your dog lives in our home and gets daily pack walks and playtime with other Take The Lead dogs. We always reinforce the training and behaviors your dog has learned.
